Nationwide shut downs will continue at least through April 30, President Trump informed the American people at an afternoon press conference in the Rose Garden yesterday. This means that select portions of the population will not be systematically returning to work by Easter as was previously proposed.
Trump reported that the U.S. had tested over 1 million people for the coronavirus and he announced that there is a new testing kit in development that will deliver accurate results within five minutes. Included in his opening remarks, the president reminded us, “Our future is in our own hands, and the choices and sacrifices we make will determine the fate of this virus and, really, the fate of our victory.” You can read the entire transcript here.
The president went on to introduce the CEOs of American companies that are producing medical equipment to help meet our most urgent needs in the battle against the novel coronavirus—Darius Adamczyk of Honeywell, Debra Waller of Jockey International, David Taylor of Procter & Gamble, among others.
Amid those U.S. manufacturing companies that are fulfilling their patriotic duty by donating or producing medical equipment in response to the coronavirus pandemic was My Pillow, founded by American inventor, businessman, and entrepreneur, Michael Lindell. In an effort to combat the spread of the virus, Lindell has shifted his entire workforce to produce N95 facemasks for hospital workers.
My Pillow has dedicated 75% of their manufacturing to produce 50,000 cotton facemasks a day, and making PPE for medical staff isn’t all that Lindell and My Pillow are doing, either. His company is developing protocols to research and address the current and future needs of U.S. businesses across multiple sectors in an effort to help companies prepare themselves for how they will once again open up. My Pillow is also establishing an internal task force to monitor future needs to help companies change their operations and adjust to future threats and pandemics. They have even set up call centers for this reason.
Lindell thanked President Trump for his presidential action in the fight against the novel coronavirus and for enabling companies like My Pillow to aid in the crisis.
Concluding his remarks, Lindell added, “God gave us grace on November 8, 2016 to change the course we were on. God had been taken out of our schools and lives. Our nation had turned its back on God. And I encourage you to use this time at home to get back into reading the Word. Read the Bible and spend time with your families. Our president gave us so much hope, where just a few short months ago we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, and wages going up, it was amazing. With our great president, vice president, and this administration and all the people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever.”
One thing we can all count on for sure, My Pillow facemasks will be “the most comfortable mask you’ll ever own.”
